Abundance and Potential of Asteroidea as Bioindicator of Lead (Pb) in the Coastal Zone at Bangkalan Regency, Madura

Asteroidea is a marine invertebrate that has role as bioindicator, but the research related to abundance and potential of bioindicator lead on Madura Island not to be done. This study aimed analyze effect Pb concentration population density in Bangkalan Regency. The transect plotting method with plot measuring 1x1 m2 30 plots intertidal zone for collecting data. Seawater sampling was divided into three stations, such station I-0 meters (edge), II-50 (middle) III-100 (deep zone). Data analysis carried out quantitative descriptive Asteroida composition including diversity index, relative dominance index parameters. results obtained were species starfish, Cryptasterina sp. Aquilonastra coronata value 0, 100% 1. Tengket Beach at depth 0 meters, 50 100 are 0.072 ppm; 0.16 0.61 ppm Pantai Modung 0.5 0.83 0.82 ppm. Based Asteroidea, higher contained waters, lower Asteroidea’s will found. It concluded can used an indicator coastal waters.
